On June 18, 2025, the students of the University of Nyíregyháza visited Szatmár again in the framework of an international excursion, where the focus was on Hungarian culture, tradition and gastronomy.

During the excursion, led by Dr. Kálmán Kiss, the students got to know the sights, history and culture of Szatmár County. The first stop of the excursion was the Vay Castle, followed by the Luby Castle, where the students had the opportunity to visit the castle's famous rose garden. In Nagyar, the participants not only visited the castle, but also the local church, the country house and the Petőfi tree. After Nagyar, the students arrived in Szatmarcseke, where they laid a wreath at the gravestone of the famous Hungarian poet and author of the Hymn, Ferenc Kölcsey. The fourth stop of the tour was Túristvándi, where they learned more about the historical everyday life of the region at the water mill. The last stop was in Mátészalka, where our international students visited the Carriage Museum and the famous Hollywood actor Tony Curtis exhibition.

The team returned home pleasantly tired but full of new experiences and memories.
