CALL FOR A MENTOR APPLICATION
Dear Students,
The International Relations Office of the University of Nyíregyháza invites applications for the Stipendium Hungaricum/Diaspora Mentor student position in the autumn semester of the academic year 2024/2025.
We welcome applications from all students who would like to help their fellow foreign students who are new to the university. Previous international mentoring experience would be an advantage.
The mentoring role will provide an opportunity to develop intercultural social skills and practical foreign language knowledge. The practical knowledge and experience gained through mentoring will also be useful for future employment.
Successful applicants will receive a certificate at the end of the autumn semester in recognition of their work and scholarship support.
Candidates will be interviewed after the application deadline. The successful mentor candidates will be prepared for their tasks in workshops in August.
The deadline for applications is 23 June 2024
All students of the University of Nyíregyháza can apply, who:
- are enrolled in bachelor and master programmes
- have completed at least two semesters of study in full-time
- have an active student status in the semester of the activity
- have at least an intermediate level of English
The mentor's tasks:
- support for the integration into university life of international students participating in the Stipendium Hungaricum, Diaspora programmes and self-financed courses
- assisting with students' accommodation documents and official administration
- collective thinking with mentored students, regular meetings with them
- administrative duties, regularly informing the International Relations Office to resolve any problems that may arise
- participation in programmes for foreign students organised by the International Relations Office
